Order Food in california-gully

Good fish and chips here. On the way home we decided to call into the McIvor Road Fish and Chip shop. Although there was only a few of us in the shop we could tell that they must do a lot of phone orders as the deep fryers were working overtime. We ordered the stock standard fish and chips with potato cakes to takeaway. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the order was filled fairly quickly considering how busy they were. Although there are a few metal seats outside, no tables, this is a predominately takeaway store. Worth considering if you are after a feed of fish and chips.

The beef on both dishes was really tender: beef ho-fun and sizzling Mongolian beef, the sauces were nice, specially the Mongolian. The deep fried banana and ice cream were also good. Service was prompt. Appreciated the fact there was no music or any source of loud noise present.

The restaurant was welcoming when we walked in. The inside feels authentic and is very nice. The food came out promptly, and all dishes were very tasty. Prices were satisfactory, but serving sizes could have been larger, especially for the large steamed rice. Definitely recommend this restaurant when you are in the area.

Update August 2024 Great service at lightning speed. The Chicken and salad was just excellent. Well done to the team. Fast, flavourful and filling. The extremely quick and efficient service caught me a little off guard trying to take photos for this review. I had my chicken with garlic sauce and fresh salad meal in about 60 seconds (probably less) from ordering to ready to go. The team are very professional, friendly and welcoming. The staff also seem very happy to be there to so this in itself adds to the experience. I ordered a small pack, and you could easily get two meals out this. The Turkish Kitchen Take Away Shop is certainly worth considering if you are looking for something tasty and a little different to try in a meal. Well done to the team, an easy 5 stars from me.

We absolutely love this place, honestly the best and most consistent place in town for great tasting quality food. Wonderful service every time and we have been regulars for several years without a single negative experience.

I ordered a Chinese noodle dish which was really great. The service was awesome. What this place needs is a facelift, to everything, including the staff uniforms. 1st impressions are really important. The door scraped on the floor, the menu had stickers over it, the cook needed a clean shirt. There was to much clutter. Don't get me wrong the food is nice but if I wasn't a local I would walk in then walk straight back out.
